As Skillet is a Christian band, it is safe to assume these Comatose lyrics speak about the person’s relationship with God. It speaks of someone who has fallen, perhaps into sin or has drifted from God and this song becomes his or her desperate cry out to God that he no longer wants to be like this He wants to wake up out of his stupor, and return to what was once good.
