Comatose is one of my favorite songs from Skillet. Skillet is a Christian rock band consisting of John (lead vocals), his wife Korey, along with Jen and Seth on drums and guitar respectively. Comatose received Grammy nomination along with Collide. Their newest “Awake”album was voted 2011 Top Christian Album. The name “Skillet” comes from the fact that the original members all came from different bands with different styles of rock all mixed into this new band – Skillet.

Skillet – Comatose Lyrics Meaning

As Skillet is a Christian band, it is safe to assume these Comatose lyrics speak about the person’s relationship with God. It speaks of someone who has fallen, perhaps into sin or has drifted from God and this song becomes his or her desperate cry out to God that he no longer wants to be like this He wants to wake up out of his stupor, and return to what was once good. Lot of people may not appreciate Christian rock as much, but for a song that cries out to God, this style of music makes it all the more powerful.
